Horse idioms

Straight from the horses mouth:
if you get information about something from the horse's mouth, you get it from someone who is involved in it and knows a lot about it.

To beat a dead horse:
to waste time doing something that has already been attempted.

A charley horse:
a sudden, painful tightening of a muscle in your arm or leg.

A dark horse:
a person who does not tell other people about their ideas or skills and who surprises people by doing something that they do not expect.

To flog a dead horse:
to waste time trying to do something that will not succeed.

A horse of a different color:
a situation or a subject that is different from what you had first thought it was.
